RAP :: A PHOTO JOURNALISTIC COMPANY BASED IN SOUTHERN CAL
RAP is owned and operated by Co-Founders Juanita Ray and Scott Ray.
Both Scott and Juanita are CDF VIP\'s (Volunteers In Prevention) and initially spent
four years covering Norba National events, with first aid kits as Red Cross Professional Rescuers and Track Martials through the CDF (California
Department of Forestry). Scott, a past president of the Riverside Bike Club, later served as Mountain Bike Chairman for two years, and spent six
years as the Captain of one of the 24 Hours of Adrenalin teams. Scott has been at the drag boat races since Puddingstone, and in the pits since Del was a Rookie. With neighbors like Steve Lamson, Jeff Stanton and David Klassenvanoorsch Scott was hooked on racing.
Scott was involved in Racing and Sports for years, photography was his passion.
Juanita and Scott Ray hold Media Credentials and are accredited photo journalists, published in various newspapers. They have covered Drag Cars, Drag Boats, Motocross, Supercross, Monster Trucks and Mountain Biking Events venues by NHRA, IHBA, NJBA, AMA, NORBA and USHRA Associations. Juanita has written news stories for newspapers and magazines, throughout Canada and the United States.
Juanita is an excellent graphic designer, web developer and programmer and has been designing graphics and web sites since the ninties.
She spent most of her life owning and operating floral design shops and which led to her being offered her own
TV show which aired live. Juanita took a two year sabitical to work for two different newspaper companies where she wrote and photographed newsworthy events.
Her passion was writing and photo manipulations. She preferred to enhance and transform photos with special effects as apposed to shooting the photographs, until she started shooting motorsports.
Scott has always had a passion for motorsports and has been involved in the race industry since the the early ninties. A few years ago Scott handed Juanita his camera to photograph him riding with some of the 911 Fire Fighters, who were bicycling from New York to California, on behalf of their fallen comrades and friends. Juanita unfamiliar with his camera, couldn't even find the button, and was certain she had not captured the moment. It turned out she had taken an excellent photo and Scott submitted it, along with a story he wrote from scratch, to the Press Enterprise, who published both the article and photo. From then on their future of photo journalism combined with their passion for sports, was a natural progression.
